FULL COLOR HIGH RESOLUTION ANODIZING GOES TO MARS
WHEN THE SPIRIT ROVER LANDED ON MARS, it sent extraordinary images of the red planet back to earth. Among them, is was an image of a memorial plaque placed on the spacecraft to honor Columbia’s astronauts. The plaque, specially prepared by Danco, used our exclusive Deep Image Process for full color, high resolution images. It can be seen in the color photo below. The black & white photo, below right, sent back from the surface of Mars, shows the plaque mounted on the back of Spirit’s high-gain antenna. The plaque is aluminum and approximately 6 inches in diameter. Other components were also processed by Danco, including the hard anodized wheels and protective wheel covers.
The Mars Exploration Rover “Spirit” also has Danco hard-anodized wheels, protective wheel covers, and other critical components.
